Oscar-Winning Actress to Star In Kingsbury Film

January 2008 — Academy Award winning actress Mira Sorvino will star opposite Barry Pepper in the motion picture adaptation of Karen Kingsbury’s #1 best-selling novel, Like Dandelion Dust (CenterStreet), announced Alive President Rick Christian, noting that filming begins January 26 in Jacksonville, Fla. and then moves to the Dominican Republic in February. Sorvino earned her Oscar for her supporting role in Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite, while Pepper is known for his performances in The Green Mile, Saving Private Ryan and 25th Hour. The screenplay was written by Academy Award nominated screenwriter Stephen J. Rivele, whose previous credits include Ali and Nixon). Grammy winner Mark Mancina, who scored August Rush and Shooter, is attached to compose the music for the film. Reynaldo Villalobos (Urban Cowboy, Risky Business) has signed on as Director of Photography. Jon Gunn (Mercy Streets, My Date With Drew) is directing. The independent film, produced by Downes Brothers Entertainment /Lucky Crow Films, will be released later this year by 20th Century Fox. In a related development, Christian said that the first draft of the script for another Kingsbury novel, A Thousand Tomorrows (CenterStreet), has been completed.
