October 2009 — Karen Kingsbury was honored with the 2009 Extraordinary Women’s award in Roanoke, VA. Every year at an EWomen’s event this award is given to the woman who demonstrates exemplary service in Christian ministry. Kingsbury is in good company with past recipients–Vonette Bright, Beverly LaHaye, Gloria Gaither, and Thelma Wells. Kingsbury continues to top book sales which have now exceeded 15 million copies. Shades of Blue, a stand alone novel, is her latest. Two movies are scheduled for theatrical release in 2010; adaptations taken from Like Dandelion Dust and Gideon’s Gift. –RC
