Kingsbury Film Nabs Numerous Wins
Like Dandelion Dust
October 2009 – Karen Kingsbury’s Like Dandelion Dust has been piled with praise as it completes a wildly successful tour of 20 film festivals, from Las Vegas to Vail to New York. Among the honors were Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Feature, and Best Screenplay. The film first drew raves and rivers of mascara at January’s Palm Springs International Film Festival where it was named “Best of Fest.” Variety has pumped the production as “cathartically emotional” and applauded star Barry Pepper for his “head-turning performance” and “Brando-like command and presence.” He and Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino have both won “Best Actor” awards in this film’s preliminary screenings. Audiences are anticipating the film’s theatrical release, set for fall 2010. — RC
