September 14, 2010 — Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino was interviewed this week by CNN’s Chris Ford about the themes of faith and forgiveness in her starring role in “Like Dandelion Dust.” The film, releasing in a nationwide rollout starting September 24, was adapted from the book by NY Times bestselling novelist Karen Kingsbury and is directed by Jon Gunn. It is the story of a mother who gave her child up for adoption but decided to try and get him back, said Alive’s President Rick Christian, who negotiated the book-to-film deal. He noted that the film won 20-plus “Best Film” and “Best Actor” awards at pre-release film festivals from California to New York, and that USA Today trumpets it as being “the next Blind Side,” the film that earned Sarah Bullock a Best-Actress Oscar earlier this year over Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren, among others. A list of theaters that will screen the film is available at www.likedandeliondust.com. –RC
