New York, NY—October 22, 2013— Yesterday Gavin MacLeod was  on the TODAY Show where he shared insights and lessons from his book This Is Your Captain Speaking, which released yesterday from Thomas Nelson Publishers. Gavin shares his fondest memories of meeting and working with countless stars, such as Cary Grant, Steve McQueen, Gregory Peck, Bette Davis, Frank Sinatra, Ethel Merman, Ella Fitzgerald, Ronald Reagan, Milton Berle, and Fred Astaire.

Gavin not only charmed us for 16 years as The Love Boat’s affable Capt. Stubing, he was also the quick-witted Murray Slaughter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. His new book This is Your Captain Speaking, coauthored by NYT bestselling Alive author Mark Dagostino, tells how this seasoned actor navigated his life of faith in Hollywood and beyond. Gavin shares that the key to happiness is only through a deep faith in God.

“I grew up watching The Love Boat, so it’s been a great joy to work with Gavin on his new biography. He’s led an exciting, colorful life and he brightens the room wherever he goes. He’s one of the good guys.” – JK
